100 shooting enthusiasts join RIAS Cup

More than 100 law enforcers and civilian shooters participated in the 2nd Regional Internal Affairs Service (RIAS) Cordillera Director’s Cup at the Camp Dangwa firing range over the weekend.

PLtCol. Jimmy Catanes, RIAS-COR regional director and organizer of the sporting event, said the shootfest was intended to rekindle shooting enthusiasts of their responsibility as gun owners.

“We are gathered here at the firing range to check our firearms if it is lawfully registered, if in good condition and to hone our skills in practical shooting and for camaraderie. Responsible, peace-loving and law-abiding gun owners we should always be,” Catanes said.

Charlie Leaño topped the Open Division while Gerald Loy was champion in the Standard Division.  Jack Lord Adriano was the best in the Production Division and in the Classic Division, Ruel La Peña    was adjudged champion. Jeanette Campus emerged the Lady Category champion.

RIAS-Cor Division champion was Randy Lucas while Philippine National Police Production Division champion was Dwight Kiefer Arucod.

 PNP Ladies Category champ was Rosalia Pulig and Taggart Jones Bagsiyao for PNP Standard Division.  PNP Standard Classic champ was Rogel Bilibli while  Non-Uniform Personnel champ was Florida Licayu

Meanwhile, the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Cordillera recently sponsored a shootfest as part its 25th anniversary celebration.

The shootfest was held at the Philippine Military Academy firing range. TESDA Region 3 Gun Club and PMA range officers joined the event.
