Provision of various infrastructure projects and trainings for partner organizations have been rolled out by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) here to boost their Forestland Management Projects (FMP) in the province.
Forester Edgar Martin, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources officer (PENRO), said more than P276 million-worth of Agroforestry Support Facilities (ASF) are now being implemented in upland communities.
These are the concreting of Carolotan Access Road with RCDG Bridge in Dupax Del Norte town, 4.10 – kilometer Lacong – Centro – Babadi Road and 1.779-kilometer Access Road in barangay Pangawan in Kayapa town , 4.10-kilometer Abuang Access Road with 2 overflow bridges in barangay Banila, 1.735-kilometer Canabay Road with overflow bridge, 1.52-kilometer Lazar-Kalinga Road, 80 lineal Meter Hanging Bridge, all in Dupax del Sur town and the 7.476-kilometer Access Road in barangay Pallas in Bambang town.
Some of these projects, Martin added were about to be started while others are under the procurement process of the government.
Martin, on the other hand, said 13 capacity building activities were given recently to various Peoples Organizations (POs).
“These POs are our partners in the implementation of various projects of FMP. Aside from this, we were also able to provide infrastructure support projects,” he said.
