In a report presented by the Philippine aid office of the agency Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the deteriorating traffic in the Philippines is equal to 3.5B pesos in lost opportunity for 2017 alone. This opportunity cost refers to the economic cost of transportation in Metro Manila, that is, the costs incurred in operating and time spent by both passengers and drivers alike.
