The ESL Champions TNC Predator showed the world again why they are considered the favorites to win it all in the MDL Dota 2 Chengdu Major by sweeping Group A with a 4-0 run.
The first matchup pitted them against Team Unknown who looked listless in both games. In game 1 of the best of three series, the Filipino duo of Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios and Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte gave Team Unknown a beating by playing fast and efficient dota. Armel’s Kunkka took control of the early game by getting kills for their squad and it just made the game impossible for Team Unknown to come back from. After twenty-two minutes, the GG’s were called.
Game 2 wasn’t much different from game 1. TNC managed to secure one of their favorite picks for Gabbi in the Night Stalker which was complimented by the Ember Spirit for Armel. TNC’s lineup steamrolled over Team Unknown which had no answer for the fast, aggressive, and highly mobile heroes of TNC.
The second matchup was against the Chinese team EHome. Game 1 was a long drawn out game which ended only after sixty-two minutes. TNC Predator had the whole map under their complete control for most of the game but had difficulties sieging the base of EHome. Due to their opponent’s heroes such as Invoker and Earthshaker that are good in high ground defense, it took a sixty thousand gold lead before TNC finally defeated their rivals.
In game 2, EHome tried to take control of the early game with XinQ’s Skywrath Mage trying to neutralize with the Ancient Seal skill Armel’s Puck and Gabbi’s Morphling. However, Gabbi’s Morphling went god mode once he managed to finish his Aghanim’s Scepter. Jumping from enemy to enemy, Morphling destroyed anyone who stood in his way, forcing EHome to have no choice but to surrender.
With two superb performances against their opponents, TNC Predator sits comfortably at the top of Group A, proving once again that they are a force to be reckoned with at the MDL Chengdu Major.
